This magician was made after 1940 by the Czech artist Karel Krob.
In the case of the sale of this puppet, we dedicate half of the amount collected to the development of PUP - Puppet University Prague
This marionette is made of quality materials dating from the 20th century. The magician's piercing blue eyes, pink cloak and long white beard make him absolutely unique. Notice also the purple clothing with gold embroidered details. We are excited to introduce you to this magician as an original historical piece.
Karel Krob (1904 - 1974) originally trained as a shoemaker, but from a young age he was fascinated by the puppetry world. That is why he also devoted all his free time to carving and making marionettes. He continued the tradition of Czech puppeteers, because he carved marionettes as he remembered them from the marionette shows of his childhood. Initially, he made marionettes only for the pleasure of his children, acquaintances and friends. Later, he carved marionettes for puppet ensembles, including the Spejbl and Hurvínek Theater. Today, his works are represented in a number of museum and private collections and puppet ensembles.
Thank you for all your advice and help! Guys at Czech Marionettes are really masters of what they do. I have visited them in their studio and got my Skeleton there. Will buy more professional stuff there.
I was surprised by how easy and fun it is to operate. The controls and strings are straightforward, making it easy to create various dance movements. For its size, the puppet is very compact and can be comfortably carried in a small backpack. If you're looking for a simple yet entertaining and nice marionette, this marionette is a fantastic choice.
If you enjoy Marionettes this is the site for you - your time and effort will be used wisely if you love creative puppets I recommend this site owner unconditionally and enthusiastically!
