The antique Sibyl marionette is made of original materials dating from the end of the 19th century. It is precisely carved from wood and dressed in a beige fabric. Her bluish skin gives her a mysterious touch and her blue eyes look to the future. This marionette will stand out perfectly in the collection of any puppet enthusiast.
Josef Allesy (1810-1894), born Gianpiero Alessi, is of Italian descent. He came to Bohemia around 1830 and worked there as a carver and conservator in churches. His marionettes were extremely anatomically elaborated with very good mobility and in the second half of the 19th century they gained extraordinary popularity with many Czech puppeteers.

I was surprised by how easy and fun it is to operate. The controls and strings are straightforward, making it easy to create various dance movements. For its size, the puppet is very compact and can be comfortably carried in a small backpack.
