The hand-carved puppet of a medieval clown is an example of noble work with linden wood. An interesting combination of techniques and materials makes this puppet a collectable piece. The creator says: I am really excited to share my new 2019 Clowns (50 cm), they are hand carved and finished to the same high standard as previous years. I still use bees wax to preserve them and then hand paint them myself, but this year the clothes have changed. I have been really lucky to find a supplier of fantastic recycled silks in India, they have an unbelievable range of colours and patterns which have given my latest work a real boost. The colours are bright and vibrant and work with oil paints to bring the marionette to life. The rest is made up of natural cotton and soft leather in the usual way.
