Lenka Pavlickova graduated from SUPS in Prague 1992, where she studied
graphic design. She later discovered her natural capacity in plastic art. Using
a malleable plaster, plastic compound she creates marionettes modeled after
classic folktale and fairytale characters. Lenka Pavlickova also uses the
classic sculptor’s technique, hand-carving marionettes from linden-tree wood,
which happens to be the national tree of the Czech Republic. Each marionettes
costume are created from magnificent materials, leather and natural silk and
fashioned after period models.
