The Theatre of Miscellanea is a professional puppet theater
performing in Northern Bohemia. It was established in 1988
as the second artistic ensemble of The City Theatre in Most.

The creators of DRAK Theatre have tried to check up from
the play to the play, again and again, in different time
the most effective communication with a spectator. Listening
to each other, searching questions and answers with awareness
that nothing is definitive and final, dialogue of people,
dialogue of the creators, dialogue of the puppeteers and
marionettes, dialogue of sound and light, dialogue of the
spoon and fork...could this listening to each other be called
a puppet or alternative or figural or experimental theatre?
The Spejbl and Hurvínek Theatre was established by Professor
Josef Skupa (1892-1957) in Pilsen, western Bohemia in 1930.
It was the first modern professional marionette theatre.
Its protagonists, Spejbl and Hurvínek, had already gained
populairty in amateur marionette show performed in Pilsen
cabarets.

The Naive Theatre Liberec was established in the year 1949.
Even though the theatre's natural blossoming has entailed
various directions, its founding came about as a result
of knowingly nurtured continuity. For several generations,
the theatre is known in the minds of its audience and its
critics for its excellent reputation as the Czech Puppet
Theatre of highest quality.
Mozart composed "The Opera of Operas" Don Giovanni especially
for Prague, where he personally conducted its world premiere
in 1787 at the Estates Theatre (Stavovské Theatre). National
Marionette Theatre presents this brilliant opera in a unique
version of classical marionettes. The production celebrates
Mozart's time and the atmosphere of this era in a form of authentic
18th century spectacle. Using tall marionettes, stylish period
costumes and original stage effects.
The professional career of this puppet stage dates back to October 1949.
Prior to that it gathered experience on a semi-professional basis.
The founder and first manager was Vladimír Matoušek, a great teacher and
artist who had been an acknowledged personality of the Czech puppetteering
in the period between the two world wars. There were a number of creative

We are an independent theatre ensemble from the Czech Republic (Central Europe, Planet Earth). We are always
glad when we can perform any of our plays at a festival or at any other occasion. Our theatre ensemble is called KVELB
and was founded in 1997. We are a non-governmental, non-profit organisation of seven people: actors, musicians,
directors, painters and technicians - all at the same time.

Organziation (UNESCO) one of the 19 world’s "masterpieces of the oral and intangible
heritage of humanity”.
The Pupi Siciliani—a unique kind of large and heavy marionettes covered with knightly armor—are
the traditional form of epic popular theatre that developed in Sicily in the early 1800’s.
