Skeleton man

This wonderfully carved antique skeleton marionette dates back to 1919. It was hand-carved by Josef Chochol of Prague. The famous folk puppeteer, Rudolk Kaiser, used this marionette until 1935. His son, Josef Kaiser, later carried on the tradition performing with this marionette until 1970.

The marionette is in good condition. It stands 80 cm or 28 inches tall from head to foot. You can see some wear on the paint, and the marionette was probably repainted a couple of times during its stage life. Metal chain links connect the joints.

The professional control mechanism allows the marionette to open and close its mouth.
